Rooted in 20 years of local experience

Meet Your Guide
Jayme Castro
I discovered wild mushrooms while growing up in Mount Shasta, and I've spent over 20 years learning the forests, seasons, and species that define this region. My work combines hands-on field experience with a deep understanding of local ecology - hunting, identifying, documenting, and teaching the fungi of Northern California. My goal is to help people see the natural world in a new way - one that inspires a deeper connection and lifelong interest in identifying and understanding wild mushrooms.
